# The Benefits of Observing

## The purpose of Observing

1. **Prepare** for Tech Fleet project training.
2. See what **real Agile team work** is like.
3. **Observe the meetings** that happen in the Agile Scrum Method.
4. **Learn how to work** with other people across different job roles.
5. **Understand what you're expected** to be doing day-to-day in Tech Fleet project training.
6. See how your **previous education and training applies** to real Agile team work.
7. **Understand your own skills** and experience gaps that you can fill in Tech Fleet.

## Benefits of Observing

1. **Learn** Agile UX.
2. **Watch cross-functional teamwork** across research, design, product management, and development.
3. **Mentally prepare** for the chaos of apprenticing and co-leading on Tech Fleet training programs.
4. **Build confidence** in real-world client-facing team work.
5. **See what it's like** working with people who are not in your role.
6. **Understand** the roles of co-leads and apprentices.
7. **Spend less time** and energy than if you were an apprentice.
8. **Gain name recognition** from co-leads and apprentices on teams if you attend meetings regularly. If a project needs to suddenly fill a role, you may be called upon!

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://guide.techfleet.org/observer-portal/observer-handbook/the-benefits-of-observing.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
