Here's what you need to know about Leads in Tech Fleet:
A co-lead is a member of team project training in Tech Fleet. Co-leads are not bosses or managers. They are servant leaders: they support the growth and success of others on the team. They also own work on their team, just like apprentices. There is no heirarchy in Tech Fleet teams. All co-leads are equal to each other. Leads on teams are paired up, hence the name: "co-lead". There are usually up to 12 co-leads per project team. All apprentices are equal to co-leads. All co-leads are equal to each other. Co-leads do not have expertise. They are simply people guiding and learning as well. As a co-lead, you work alongside peers that are other apprentices, co-leads, and mentors. You work on a client project. Co-leads must apply to projects in order to join. Projects are eleven weeks, and we open new projects to apply to every month.
Please note: having the Co-Leads role does not mean you're on a team yet. It means you can see the alerts to apply to openings for projects as an apprentice. It also means you get channels for guidance as someone who is applying as an apprentice, or actively apprenticing. You still need to apply to a project and be selected by a Project Coordinator. Getting the Leads Role is the next step towards joining a team.
Tech Fleet highly recommends Observing as the first step to interacting with the community, and a first step to joining projects. We offer this for anyone in the community. Check out the other video we've made, Getting Ready to Observe. It tells you what you need to do in Discord to start observing projects.
