This page goes over how to add yourself to Tech Fleet's educational space for access to project deliverables in Figma.

What is Figma?

Figma is a tool that product people and UX people use. With this tool, you can make mockups, high fidelity designs, or digital working spaces. Tech Fleet uses this tool for project work. All project team trainees should have a Figma account to be able to use Figma (the design tool) and Figjam (the whiteboard tool) during project work.

Observers are able to join Figma as well so that they can see and be a part of the work while they observe.

Steps to Join the Tech Fleet Education Space

1. Click here to login to Figma with your account.

2. Click on this invite link to join the Tech Fleet Educational project space

3. You will be added to the Tech Fleet project space.

4. You must verify your account on Figma for educational purposes. Follow the next steps to verify your account in Figma.

Steps to Verify

1. Join the Tech Fleet project space with the instructions above.

2. Figma will ask you to verify your account. Either:

   1. Click on the call to action to verify when it asks you to verify.

   2. Alternatively, you can go to this form: https://www.figma.com/education/apply

3. On the verification form, fill out the following:

   1. Select "Student"

   2. Select "Bootcamp or Online Program"

   3. For the reason, state "I need to use Figma for Tech Fleet project apprenticeships and education training"

   4. Select "School Not Listed"

   5. Under school name, type "Tech Fleet Professional Association"

   6. For the website, type "https://techfleet.org"

   7. Select "UX/UI Design" for the primary field of study

   8. Upload the Transcript PDF on this page below when it asks you to upload your transcript.

   9. When it asks you "Please share a URL of the course you are taking", enter Tech Fleet's info website: https://techfleet.org

   10. For the "expected graduation date", select the furthest date in the future so that you can use the Education plan for a long time.

   11. Agree to Figma's terms

   12. Submit the form
