What is Agile Team Vision?

Just like a product has a vision, a team needs a vision too. Vision helps everyone see long-term outcomes and direction ahead. Teams can build a collective vision for themselves as teammates before projects begin to outline:

  2. The team-focused problems to solve

  3. The team goals

  4. The value the team provides

  5. What makes the team unique

  6. What risks the team can identify to vet

  7. The costs that may go into the team

Provide a one sentence “elevator pitch” that embodies the team and its value. Write the vision statement last!

What risks the team can identify to mitigate

What are the things that could stand in the way of your Agile Transformation succeeding in the long-term? List anything related to team user experience, technology, market, business, or otherwise. Once you identify these risks, your team should work toward removing risks.

The costs that may go into the team

List the things that will contribute to “overhead” costs for your team Agile Transformation to succeed. This can be anything from training to partnerships to time, and everything in between.

List the “definition of done” for Agile transformation: the outcomes that this team must achieve in order for Agile Transformation to be considered a success.
